SEATTLE, WA and READING, UK, May 14, 2009 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Global supercomputer leader Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced
the appointment of Duncan Roweth as principal engineer in the CTO
office. With 20 years of experience in the high performance computing
(HPC) industry, Roweth will work on Cray's future interconnect R&D
and will also be in charge of the company's research activities
across Europe.
Roweth co-founded UK-based interconnect firm Quadrics Ltd. in 1996.
Prior to joining Cray, he served as Quadrics' head of software R&D,
HPC business development manager and HPC technical sales lead.
Earlier, he worked for Meiko and Inmos. Roweth earned his
undergraduate degree in mathematical physics at Manchester University
and his doctorate in simulation algorithms for elementary particle
physics from Edinburgh University. He has authored and co-authored
numerous technical articles.

contribute substantially to our R&D program, especially in the area
of interconnects, which are critical to the scalability and
